My Story

Creativity is something that has always been a part of me. When I was little, I was drawing picture books before I even knew how to spell "the". I thought, coming out of high school, fresh off of STEM classes, that I wanted to go into engineering. Stable job, good money, the works. I thought it would fill my creative needs. But four years of mechanical engineering school later, the job market was not what I wanted it to be. I realized my passion was not in just equations and data analysis. I wanted to make things! I wanted to create! So, I turned to my parents and said, "I will be doing a master's degree in something else". I found Industrial Design to be the major to pursue, and after a couple school searches and applications, here I am almost three years later at Arizona State University, set to graduate May 2025 with my master's in industrial design. It's been an amazing ride. I've grown to love the American desert and her beauties (120-degree summers aside), so different from my hometown in Tennessee. I've learned so much and am so thankful for the professors and friends I've had here.

I've discovered my passion: to make the world a better place. Doesn't matter how small of an impact, even if it just brightens someone's day, that is enough. I want my designs and my work to mean something to people, to symbolize care and empathy and beauty and love, for people, for the planet, and for everything in between. Those are things we sorely need right now. I will use my skills learned here and throughout my life to work towards that goal. I know it won't be easy. But wow, what a journey it will be.
